Education Minister A. N. M. Ehsanul Hoque Milan announced that technical education will be made mandatory from the sixth grade to develop a world-class and modern education system.

He made this statement as the chief guest at the ‘Leaders Training Seminar’ organized by Rotary Bangladesh at the Agriculturist Institution Auditorium in Dhaka on Friday morning (June 19).

The Education Minister stated that the government is working on modernizing the education system and placing special emphasis on technical and vocational education. To achieve this, technical education is being made mandatory in textbooks from the sixth grade.

He added that with the passage of the Public Examinations Act, punitive measures will now be taken against those involved in digital copying.

Emphasizing that unemployment cannot be increased by encouraging everyone towards higher education, the minister stated that the government is implementing various initiatives to build a skilled workforce through job-oriented education.
