Bring the culprits to justice quickly by uncovering the cause of the accident: Opposition leader

Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami and Leader of Opposition in Jatiya Sangsad Shafiqur Rahman has expressed deep grief over the loss of lives of 12 people in train-bus collision in Comilla and 3 people in road accident in Feni. At the same time, he urged the concerned authorities to find out the real cause of the accident and bring the culprits under the law quickly.

Shafiqur Rahman made this call in a post on his verified Facebook page at 10:52 am on Sunday.

A train collided with a bus that boarded at Padua Bazar railway crossing of Comilla Sadar Dakshin Upazila at 2:55 pm on Saturday. At least 12 people were killed. At least 10 people were injured. On the other hand, three people died in a road accident in Rampur of Feni Sadar Upazila early this morning. At least five people were seriously injured.

Shafiqur Rahman said that the grief of the families of those killed in these accidents will never be fulfilled. He prayed for the forgiveness of the souls of all the victims. Deepest condolences to the bereaved families. Wishing speedy recovery to the injured.

The leader of the opposition party said that these tragic incidents once again prove how dire the lack of responsibility of the concerned authorities and the safety of the road– railway along with the country’s transport system is causing. Taking effective and long-term measures to prevent such accidents is the need of the hour.

Shafiqur Rahman said, ‘I am calling on the concerned authorities to reveal the real cause of the accident and bring the culprits under the law quickly and take visible and strict measures to prevent such tragic incidents in
